When we first heard news about the Flag Ship City Curling League we knew we had to secure a spot to compete and maybe bring home a championship. Sadly we are staring down the pipe at a 2-3 record with barely any shot at the playoffs. However we have come to realize along the way the value was not in a championship, but instead the good times and laughs with our coworkers, friends and even the competition.
Kristie Rzodkiewicz who has been a staple of the team went from curling novice to wily veteran in just a month and a half had this to say about her experience “It was fun showing up not knowing what kind of talent we would be up against for that evenings competition. There was of course some bantering back and forth between teams, and it was all in good fun. If ever there was a time to realize you can’t win them all, and you won’t lose them all, curling is that!”
It was a unique event that yielded excellent team bonding and a bump in company morale for us. We highly recommend you get a team together to come out and compete next year! Here is to hoping the inaugural season of the Flagship City Curling League is not it’s last. As always we are proud to be a part of this community and if you see us around don’t be afraid to introduce yourself and say “hello”!
